IDV delivers the first Brazilian-built LMV-BR unit to the Brazilian Army
Sete Lagoas, Bazil, 9 September 2026 – IDV, a Leonardo Company, delivered the first LMV-BR 2 Guaicurus fully manufactured in Brazil to the Brazilian Army. By the end of 2026, a further 14 LMV-BR 2 Guaicurus armoured multirole vehicles will be delivered under the contract with the Brazilian Army for a total of 420 units.
The ceremony, held on September 9 at IDV’s plant in Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, was attended by Army General Hertz (Head of the Army’s Department of Science and Technology – DCT), Brigadier General Vasconcellos (Director of Manufacturing at the Army Manufacturing Directorate – DF), and other senior officers of the Brazilian Army.
Humberto Spinetti, President of IDV LATAM, stated: “The delivery reinforces our company’s commitment to strengthening Brazil’s defence industrial base, meeting the operational requirements of the Armed Forces, and creating export opportunities. The Guaicurus (LMV-BR 2 4×4) production line was inaugurated in April 2026 to meet the market demand and further consolidate IDV’s global presence. IDV’s LMV platform is the company’s flagship product in the light multirole vehicle segment with more than 4,000 units currently in service worldwide. The platform is available in different protection levels, cab configurations, and mission-specific variants to meet a wide range of operational requirements.
